Mirror Neurons: Where Science Meets Sales

Mirror neurons are these incredible little cells in our brains that fire when:

  1.  We perform an action ourselves.
  2.  We observe someone else doing the action.

Essentially, they are our brain’s way of empathizing and understanding the actions and emotions of others. 

Now, here’s where it gets really interesting for us marketers. Mirror neurons play a crucial role in influencing consumer behavior.

And there are easy things we can do to tap into that power.

 

Use Mirror Neurons to Overcome Buyer Hesitation

When you have an online presentation, share your screen and take your viewers through your sales page or order form and demonstrate the process of actually filling it in.

Type in contact information and credit card details. Take them through that process in their mind as if they are doing it themselves. 

This process removes the natural block that causes them to stop before choosing to fill it out themselves.

Don’t  just talk people through it or give them a link to do it on their own. Take them through the steps in real time and remove the obstacle that’s stopping them from getting it done themselves.
