Hignell HOA Management provides full board management, consulting and accounting services for homeowners associations. They specialize in keeping up with the laws, financial obligations, and relationships within an HOA community by stepping into the role of an outside manager, or by coming alongside in a consulting arrangement. In 2013 Hignell HOA set a new goal to become a leading expert in the HOA management industry. Up to this point they didn’t have a digital marketing strategy, so with Half a Bubble Out’s recommendations and experience, decided to shift their focus from a traditional to an online strategy that included consistent blogging and building out lead magnet funnels.
For the next 5 years, this strategy of providing helpful, free content worked and the HOA managers at Hignell couldn’t keep up with the leads coming in! They quickly realized they needed to find a way to scale that allowed them to continue doing quality work for their current HOA clients, while also finding new revenue streams that could produce quality leads to maximize time and resources. Half a Bubble Out needed a way to find out what the Hignell HOA audience actually wanted, and wondered if there was an audience online that was willing to buy a digital product.
In the beginning of 2018, Half a Bubble Out conducted market research using The ASK Method® Deep Dive Survey (DDS) and segmentation campaigns to find out if there was an online audience for homeowners association management.
Hignell HOA knew what the main problems, frustrations and concerns their audience had when it came to managing an HOA, but what the DDS did was highlight key pain-points their ideal customers were experiencing and gave them language to use to tailor content to their audience’s needs.
Since Hignell’s current contacts were used to receiving free content, there were also questions as to whether or not contacts would be interested in purchasing a digital product. The DDS and segmentation work allowed Half a Bubble Out to test and see if the HOA audience would be interested in purchasing a digital product, as well as provide language to use in copywriting, and pinpoint the key issues to address for HOA members.
The ASK Method® helped Half a Bubble Out create a digital strategy for Hignell HOA that consists of evergreen content based on the market research from the DDS, as well as digital products available for purchase, such as webinars, content bundles, and online consulting packages. Instead of being confined to one geographic area, Hignell HOA is now able to expand their expertise and consulting services to serve homeowner’s associations across the United States.
